There are 5
Costa Blanca golf courses in the area, Villamartin
Golf Course, Las Ramblas Golf, Campoamor Golf Course & La Finca plus Altorreal
in Murcia.
"....it ( the Costa Blanca ) also boasts some absolutely
fantastic golf courses and it's an area well worth considering when you’re
planning a sunshine golf holiday."
FORE golf magazine
January 2000.

17th green Villamartin Golf Course.
"Villamartin,
one of the best golf courses in
Spain, probably the best golfing in
Costa Blanca and also hosted the Spanish Open" Fore!
magazine, January 2000.
"Villamartin, Relish your time in
this millionaires playground.
Why you should play. The place oozes class
as soon as you wander through the entrance gardens complete with fountain and
statue of an angelic lady golfer. You won't be disappointed by the 6037 metre,
par 72 course either. There are some great holes and plenty of expensive
eye-catching mansions on the courses perimeter. You'll love it. Wish you were
here?
Best bit. A difficult one as there's such a healthy choice but the
303 metre par four 7th, a downhill dogleg right to a green surrounded by
cork trees, takes some beating. There's a gem of a finale too- an elevated tee
where you drive over yet more trees, the hole turning abruptly left and the
fairway looking wafer-thin from your position up in the clouds. Well, almost."
Today's Golfer magazine, January 2001.

5th Green Las Ramblas Golf Course.
" Las Ramblas,
the incredible water hazards - the ramblas - which
make this
Costa Blanca golf course different from others in the
area" FORE! magazine (Jan 2000 issue)
" Las Ramblas. Take plenty of balls. You'll need them.
Why you should play. It's an outstanding, undulating course in a dramatic,
contrasting landscape. One minute you're trying to steer clear of trees and
shrubbery and the next you're battling to avoid barren rock outcrops. Be warned
it's a battle you might well lose. But you'll love trying.
Best bit. The
challenge of propelling your ball over a series of gorges and ravines. The first
- a 341-metre sharp dogleg right of a par four- sets the tone. You can either
gamble and drive over a rocky hillock or play safe by taking an iron , aiming
for an area straight ahead but leaving a lengthy second shot. Decisions,
decisions... and Las Ramblas is full of them." Today's Golfer
magazine, January 2001.
La Finca "New course near San
Miguel (about 6 miles to Torrevieja / Villamartin). Fantastic greens, quite
long, with water everywhere."
Altorreal (near Murcia)
"Set amongst 20.000 trees and a few lakes at 6.239 metres long."
Costa Blanca golfing fees
are probably some of the best value in Spain. Villamartin is only 55 euros (£35
),Las Ramblas & Campoamor 42 euros (£27).La Finca 75 euros (about £50). Buggys
are available.
